IRIS has an offline mode which will trigger if their computer is unable to access the internet and/or Overjet servers. However, a disclaimer that offline mode is designed for short periods of connectivity issues and not prolonged outages.
Overjet is a web hosted service, and therefore the office must have a reliable internet connection in order to use the product. Functionality during offline mode will vary depending on the user's activity that day.
At a minimum, the user must be already logged into Overjet for offline mode to operate as expected. If the user had viewed historical patient images with an internet connection earlier in the day, those images will be viewable via their browser's local storage (cache). However, previously un-viewed historical images will not be available during offline mode.
While logged in, users will be able to capture new images via IRIS when in Offline Mode. Images taken will be stored locally and then uploaded to the Overjet servers once the internet connection is restored. In offline mode, images will only be available on the local computer until the workstation has reconnected to the internet and images have synced via a stable connection.
